My Beary First Post

I am what most people would consider a blog stalker... yes that is correct, I am that guy who finds blogs that he enjoys, favorites them, and visits them to the point of obsession.  I have been an educator for going on six years (seven if you count substitute teaching, I think each year of that should count as two years).  My first three years were spent teaching a self-contained sixth grade class.  I loved the experience, but every year after winter break I returned with dread in my heart.  Winter break caused a curious phenomena, all of my lovely, sweet, sixth grade girls would return as hormone driven monsters bent on my destruction!

So after three lovely years, I went down to teach a combined third and fourth grade class.  It was there that I found heaven.  I thoroughly enjoy working with third and fourth graders, but alas, all good things must come to an end.  I have been placed in an instructional coaching position for the upcoming academic year.

The worst part about leaving the classroom you ask?  I do not get to come up with a theme and decorate my room.  I have no idea why I enjoy decorating, I am a horrible housekeeper and extremely disorganized.  Decorating my classroom is my guilty pleasure.  But a job change can not keep a man down.  I have began to create classroom themed materials for others to use (and perhaps for my office at one point :) )

I will be posting the materials on the blog as well as on my TpT page:

If you have been wondering why the title of my first post contains the word 'Beary', well thanks for reading to find out!  My first project for the summer is centered around the bear clip art I found on ScrappinDoodles.

My Beary Amazaing Calendar Months!

The project started out as a camping theme, but slowly morphed and changed into a bear themed explosion of sorts.  I also created dates to go with each month as well as unthemed dates for those of you that are like me and try to limit your laminating a cutting time (Kindergarten and scissor handling were not kind to me).

And wait!  If you buy within the next 15 minutes I will throw in name plates for your student desks (enter awed head shaking and applauding here)

Thanks to everyone for taking their time to read my rants!
